The Material Girl emerged from the center in a seemingly sullen and shrunken state as she gripped her daughter Lourdes’ hand. Wearing no makeup and sweats, the pop superstar looked less than red carpet ready. Bloggers speculated whether Madonna’s involvement in baseball star Alex Rodriguez’s divorce — his estranged wife, Cynthia, accused him of having an “affair of the heart” with the singer — has been taking a toll on her. Madonna turns 50 next month and is gearing up for her Hard Candy tour, which begins Aug . 23. Meanwhile, her husband, director Guy Ritchie, issued a statement Friday that their marriage is “fine.”
